Financial requirements

As stated in section 3.1.4.1 “Procedure for Registering a New Domain Name”, in reference to the AUB “Generic full government entities or municipalities names such as beirut.gov.lb or general-security.gov.lb are exempted from the trademark requirement”, thus no cost should be incurred from registering a new domain name for the specified government entities.
Though forwarding is available for free with basic hosting, a cost may result from subscribing to a forwarding service.
The cost of owning the old domain name must be paid in full for the period agreed on with the party acting as the domain registry. In some cases early termination is possible with a fee.
A costly damage may result from abandoning a domain name and moving to another one as promoting for the website with the new domain name is necessary. But on the long run abiding to the present Standards and Guidelines is financially beneficial.
