Since all exemptions are bound by time, Lebanese government entities should provide a plan covering how and when they will achieve compliance with the Web Standards and Guidelines.

The below steps summarizes the steps that need to be followed in order to request an exemption:
  • The requesting entity’s Minister or Director General will send an official request to the Minister of state for Administrative reform outlining the need and justifications for exemption from the standards and guidelines along with a filled Exemption Request Form including the details described in the Request Form Details section. The exemption request may be submitted by either using the online Form or the hard copy Form both of which are found in the Submit Exemption Request section of this website.
  • The Minister of state for Administrative reform will forward the exemption request to the Standards and Management Team leader asking for his/her advice and recommendations
  • The Standards and Management Team will study the case and prepare the required technical and administrative justifications then propose a duration for the exemption to be granted (not exceeding a certain period preferably a year from the date of the request) as well as suggest the subsequent steps needed to adhere to the standards after the exemption period is over. The team will forward the documents to the team leader, who will review and prepare the reply letter to be sent to the Minister of state for Administrative reform for approval.
  • The Minister of state for Administrative reform will forward the recommendations of the Standards and Management Team to the requesting entity.
