Purpose / Rationale

The purpose is to establish a policy regarding Website Standards and Guidelines for all authorities, ministries, agencies, departments, boards, and councils within the Lebanese government and public sector that have a web presence. All government websites must present a uniform navigational framework and a common look-and-feel that clearly indicate to visitors that they are accessing an official website of the Lebanese Government while still maintaining the individual identity and character for each of these websites.

The Web Standards and Guidelines are expected to provide the following specific objectives:

• Convey user confidence and reach high satisfaction levels.
• Produce usable and universally accessible government websites.
• Maintain a common look and feel and navigation.
• Reduce time and cost, avoid duplication and redundant spending.
• Provide essential functionalities and citizen services.
• Provide systematic and tightened security measures.
