The Webmasters Design Toolkit, or Toolkit, contains a collection of tools, scripts, utilities, templates, samples and checklists that can be used to facilitate the adoption and application of the Standards and Guidelines. The Toolkit is intended to assist webmasters in adopting the Standards and Guidelines and applying them to existing web pages/sites, as well as to the development of new web pages/sites regardless of the web development software, programming language or technology platform used in developing and publishing these sites.
The Toolkit contains the following main elements:
- A Design Manual that can be used, by designers, as a guide and reference for designing web sites or web site components that are compliant with the standards and guidelines.
- Templates and Components that contain ready to use templates of complete web pages or individual components. The templates include both the designs in the form of JPEG and Photoshop PSD files and the produced HTML files corresponding to the designs.
- Tools and Resources that provides a comprehensive list of references to tools and resources that can be used to efficiently develop websites that meet the standards and guidelines.
- One or more Compliance Matrices that can be used as checklists to check the compliance of a website, being developed or already developed, with the standards and guidelines.
